STARTLES by Prince Michael Nku Abuo

Once in a setting
The dogs had it all
And lived it all
And lived in its own pattern
In its own abode
Barking and biting
Because though alike dissimilarities arose
Some on camel rode, others on canoe paddled while some on horses strode
Like a leaf of various shoots but same root
Suddenly came the foxes
In the peace and sometimes internal rivalry of the dogs
The foxes hairy than the dogs
With it steps faster and wilder
Smoother in eyes too
Shone in brightness but deceit reigned
For it walked with the dogs
Acted like the dogs
Barked and ate with them
While some smoked their weed and looted their lands in a barter of treachery
In this transition some foxes lost their hairy nature
Others lost lives, cares, fears and senses
At a glimpse dogs acted like foxes
While some dogs never faked it
The fox began to bark faster than the dogs
Faster, faster and as smooth as it nature
Most dogs became humbler
For a silk, brew, reflection or fireballs
Foxes weakening the bones of dogs
Began an exchange of dogs for snuff
Dogs now feeling like foxes, barked, dressed like it and bite alike
Few foxes demarcated bones from snuff
Thereby brought more bones to dogs
Many a dog became good chasers of foxes
Most dogs were used by foxes to get more bones
Most dogs in Zaire for lack of bones lost their arms while most foxes looked on
Most dogs received pets on the head for bone bravery
It wiggled it tail and swallowed in pains
Dogs were now hunted, separated while panting, hurting and dying
Then the partial freedom was won by dogs
All hail the First World War of foxes and to the legendary dogs that fought and lost their lives!
All hail the dogs of the bone plantations for foxes!
All hail the humanist!
Remember the war was still on
Dogs left across the Atlantic to be trained in Fox’s Island
The dogs just like in it nature adapted and excelled
It came first in relay, broke records and won laurels
Some foxes noticing changes began to pull dog’s teethes and dragged it tail
Dogs realizing no bone, hardly foxes now at bay
Began dragging fox’s tail and pulling it tooth
In the imbroglio
A phase was won for another battle to be fought and won
Foxes left for the Fox Island built on dogs back
Some dogs came to dogs
Cause dogs saw no dogs
Few foxes and dogs asked called out:
“Let dogs and foxes reside in the Dog’s Island
Dogs eventually led the pack in it Island as well as foxes until a mixed bred reigned
Most dogs loved bones without conscience and greed was born
Making dogs act like gone foxes
The battle line was drawn again
Fox says: “Bark more and bite more, more bones than dogs”.
Are the foxes truly gone?
Or are now in dogs form?
Proxy dogs too roams and blooms
What is the different between dogs and foxes?
Dogs are dogs
Foxes are foxes
All need bones and eat them for survival
They both have fluid content alike
So both go alike for truly they are alike
